MYFT’s inaugural year would not have been possible without the generous support of our two major sponsors, Yavneh and University of Michigan Hillel. Thanks to their partnership, we were able to fully cover housing, meals, and all tournament-related expenses for every participating student, making the weekend accessible to all. Their support helped us create an unforgettable experience that brought Jewish students together from across the country to celebrate community, tradition, and Michigan spirit.

Team

MYFT was built by a team of passionate Jewish students at the University of Michigan who came together with a shared vision—to create a weekend that blends school spirit, Jewish pride, and meaningful connection. We’re athletes, organizers, leaders, and community members who care deeply about making Jewish life on campus vibrant and accessible. From the first kickoff to the final Havdalah, our team worked to ensure that every detail of MYFT reflected our values: inclusivity, unity, and fun. We’re so proud of what we’ve built and even more excited to welcome new faces as we continue growing this initiative.

Torah

At its core, MYFT is about so much more than football, it’s about building Jewish community, celebrating tradition, and creating space for meaningful connection. As Jewish students at the University of Michigan, we launched this tournament with the vision of using a staple of campus culture, football, to bring together Jewish students from across the country in a way that feels fun, authentic, and deeply rooted in who we are. MYFT creates a space where Jewish identity is celebrated both on and off the field. Shabbat programming, spirited davening, divrei Torah, and a powerful sense of achdut infused the weekend with meaning. We were proud to show off the vibrant Jewish life that exists here at Michigan, and even prouder to build something that allowed others to experience it firsthand.
